3 x 1 Mile with extended warm up

Today's training was simple - get an 'easy' track workout with a warm up and get five miles in on the day. I headed to the high school and took Squall out on the rec trails before the track work. It was clear from the start that I had no control over the warm up, it was on Squall's terms. This meant latching on to another dog - beau - just minutes into the run. This two minute video provides a glimpse of trail running with a dog.

The 3 x 1 mile went well. I was somewhere between 5:50 - 5:55 on my miles and my HR stayed around 160. I'm looking to go sub 6 minute pace (1:18:30) for the North Conway Half Marathon on October 25th. It's a lofty goal considering last year I ran it in 1:23:55 but last year I had only trained for a couple months and now I have a full year under my belt.
