Salvaged another solid training week even though I'm still feeling that crash from Jay Peak. I attempted a couple easy runs early in the week and things just didn't feel right. My bruised sacrum is making running faster than 8:30 pace nearly impossibly. I took advantage of the downtime by getting in 6+ hours on the trainer, a massive jump from the minimal work I've put in so far this winter. Fortunately on the trainer, my hips are seated and there's no stress on my sacrum, allowing me to put in hard work.
Towards the end of the week I wasn't feeling much better but still had a ski race on Saturday and the course irritated the nerves around my sacrum but as I type this (March 16th), it's definitely getting better, not worse. Sunday I went up to Tuckerman Ravine not expecting much but we (Tristan Williams, Josh Flanagan, and Brian MacIlvain) made the most of it and skied right gully, then summited and skied the snowfields down to the Lip and 2/3 down the Sherbie. It was one of those days were it was just awesome to be outside and on skis. Plenty of snow left up in the bowl and above so I'll be heading back up on the good weather days ahead.
