Hit most of my objectives this week with the highlight being a great outing up at Tuckerman Ravine with Brian MacIlvain, Josh Flanagan, and Jerimy Arnold. We were able to make the most of the conditions and pick off four runs - Left & Right Gully, Chute, and Hillman's Highway. The snow was too soft and variable in sections (sections of very firm / ice) for classic spring skiing. We've had a strange weather pattern that involved new snow, wind, warm weather followed freezing weather. It was overcast and windy but we were protected by the bowl for most of the day. Here are some photos:
The other standout activities of the week were ones where I was able to motivate to put in multiple efforts. On Wednesday I skinned a couple laps at Cranmore following my track workout, on Thursday Brian and I ran five miles after our Tucks outing, and Saturday I ran a 5k tempo, completed a bike workout on the trainer, then finished off with a five mile run. These are the efforts that make the difference in multisport events and I hope to see some results this weekend at the inferno!
Mileage-wise, it was another good week. I wish I had the opportunity to be more consistent with my weekly miles but it's not possible until the inferno wraps up. This upcoming week will be relatively easy as I let my body rest/recover for this weekend's race.
