The MWRR took its toll on me - my chest was legitimately sore from breathing so hard for so long. And my legs were junk. Under all that though, motivation is stirring... I'm not sure exactly what for just yet. This week I managed three rides as planned to add in volume. The highlight of the week was a painful 20 mile run in miserable humidity - it was grim for the last six or so miles as I was out of calories and drinking from roadside streams. Good times!
Over the weekend I lugged camera gear around the Sherbie and GOSST and definitely got some work in. So the numbers might not reflect the amount of activity I put in but those 2 x 8hr days on the trail produced a lot of sweat!
Next week will be more easy rides on the bike, the Whitaker Woods quest to get back under 18 mins, and maybe start attacking the Pemi Loop. Short-term goals are big volume (14hr+ weeks)
Monday: Bike (1hr). Recover ride.
Tuesday: WW (wk 3) - 6.6mi total. Cool temps, 18:14. Still lots of work to do.
Wednesday: AM Bike (1hr), PM 11.1mi run.
Thursday: Light track workout - 30s hard, 60s recovery. Don't sleep on the recovery!
Friday: AM Bike (1hr), PM 20mi run. Ride felt really good and the run was too humid to enjoy. It was a grind but got it done. Not sure where that motivation came from.
Saturday: Sherbie Trailwork.
Sunday: GOSST Trailwork.
Total: Run - 45mi / 4,640', Bike - 62.1mi / 3,140'
