Really strong but tiring week. Hit my run milage which was my priority but also managed to get in two days of skiing, and a few short rides in. Legs felt it but are responding well. Now that skiing is officially shut down for the season I'll be fresher for my runs, workouts in particular. Goal for this week is to get in another 60mi+ week including a couple good workouts and my first road race of the year on Sunday.
Monday: Short run (5.2mi) down to the town line and back. Ran fast considering it was on the heels of my first long run in a while. Later that evening I hiked up to the clearing off Kearsarge which was a lot of work on tired legs.
Tuesday: Really big day - Spent the day touring the Great Gulf after the 33" Mount Washington had received. Afterwards I ran 4.2 mi up Allard Hill and back to Mountain Center PT for some Yoga.
Wednesday: Noon track session in the 80º heat. 2.4mi warm-up then 5x1000 on the track. Ran a slow pace but a good effort. Needed more miles that night so I met up with Jim Johnson to run another 5.5 at the foot of Silver Lake. Even hotter out but ran a comfortable pace which is slowly getting into the low 7s.
Thursday: 30 minute bike ride in the AM and 9 mile run in the PM.
Friday: 40 minute bike ride in the AM and 8.4 mi loop in Madison with Jim. Heat finally broke.
Saturday: Skied the snowfields, biked Great Glen, and ran 9 miles on hilly dirt roads.
Sunday: Long run - 15.6 miles on mostly paved roads looping through freedom.
Total: 63 Miles / 4,660' and another 10k' of vert skiing and hiking.
