Logged another respectable running week. Very happy with how things are going in terms of executing milage and still maintaining quality workouts. Legs are constantly tired but adapting to the workload. First time with weekly mileage above 70 since last summer (which was mostly a 50k race) and first month block of 60 mi+ weeks. Next week will be another 70 mi week then taper off for Mt Washington and then working back up to 70-80 mi weeks.
Monday: 12.5mi - Rainy Memorial Day run revisiting the Newport Rail Trail. Beautiful conditions w/Hilary & Squall.
Tuesday: Track workout with Jim - 6 x 800, 10 mi on the day. Hovered in the 2:36 range which was slightly faster than my target pace. Happy to keep incorporating the speed work.
Wednesday: Lunch 5 with Jim then Cranmore course recon with Hilary. 9.4 mi on the day and was surprised by how difficult the course was - tired legs and haven't run downhill fast yet this year.
Thursday: Sore from the previous day so called off the tempo but ran 10 mi with Jim.
Friday: 8.2 mi run on mostly dirt roads with some climbing. Trying not to overdo it.
Saturday: Cranmore Mountain Race. 8.2 mi plus a bonus hike.
Sunday: 12 mi run around Madison just logging miles. First 10 with Jim but needed a couple more so I added on.
