Monday: Off. 56 miles biking through a couple storms / tornado warnings. First time riding this long on the bike in a while and took it very easy but really enjoyed it.
Tuesday: 5.7 miles. Whitaker Woods week 2 went surprisingly well. Any week where I can dip below 18 mins is a win. Would love to PR (17:45) but not sure if that's possible on banged up legs.
Wednesday: 5.4 miles. Ran up Sunapee with Squall and put in 6 x 2 minute efforts with 75s recovery. It was a good workout for both of us!
Thursday: 7.7 miles. Downs road, added 30s on/off on the last two miles. 20 miles on the bike after.
Friday: 2.2 miles. Ran FNV Week 3 (camera in hand) and course set earlier in the day.
Saturday: 4 miles. Off the bike - longest ride I've ever done (71 miles) which is kind of crazy that I have yet to do a century. Getting surprisingly comfortable in the saddle and pushed the last stretch from Brownfield home.
Sunday: 36 miles. Longest training run to date and really enjoyed it. 8.6 mile loop out the door x 4. It's the perfect mix of road / trails and allowed me to do a little nutrition / hydration rehearsal. While it was fairly cool out, I still managed to drink a liter every 45 minutes.
Total: 62 miles // 11.4k' + 6.5k' (hiking / biking).
What initially started off as a down week (ankle tendonitis was concerning) ended up being a high volume week (18h+). Was able to get in a tempo, workout, and long run for the trifecta while still nursing this "injury". I could have skipped the long run but for my mental well-being it was needed. It was the best I've felt at that distance and it was on beat up legs. Had no idea this weekend I'd do my longest bike and training run. It's unlikely that I'll get in another 5-6hr long run so I'll be focusing more on strength / hill / speed with a couple short races before the 100.
