Monday: Day off? Ended up checking out Bond Cliff (18 miles) for a sunset hike. It was beautiful and there were a few moments of frustration attempting to avoid post-holing sections of the trail still covered in snow.
Tuesday: 7 Miles. Quick afternoon run up in Jackson, first of many in this area once Run The Whites opens up June 1st. Had to rush to make it to Yoga.
Wednesday: 8 Miles. Midday run up Downs Rd before heading to Boston to give a presentation at The North Face.
Thursday: 9 Miles. Got a nice 20 mile ride in before running to Run Strong. Finally getting in the bike work that I need and doing runs off the bike is killer for the fitness.
Friday: 8 Miles. Legs are coming back to life. The consistent runs are starting to show up in fitness.
Saturday: 20 Miles. Really good long run on trails. Legs were great but didn't bring enough fuel (two gels) and bonked hard around mile 15. It was also my first run on trails in a while that takes more energy than the dirt roads.
Sunday: 8 Miles. This was supposed to be an 11 mile run but was cut short because of a video project but we still hiked up Mount Adams to cap off another great week of training.
Total: 61 Miles // 7,182' + 8.9k' (hiking, biking).
Four weeks in and I think the training is starting to pay off. It can be difficult to see the fitness under the fatigue but I think it's there. Generally six weeks in is where things start to click so I'll be patient while my body continues to adapt to the load.
Looking forward, I have an interesting week ahead with the Crank The Kanc bike race on Saturday the 19th, then Hilary and I are off to Iceland!
