Week 2 of 'recovery' went well with a couple rides, race efforts, and a hike in the Whites. Legs are turning around so it looks like the Ragged 50k is a go next weekend.
Monday: Bike - 2hrs 35 minutes. Monday Group Ride 4 through Tamworth. Special guest appearance by Craft Sports Eric.
Tuesday: Whitaker Woods Week 8 - 5 miles total. Just a minute off my summer PR so that's encouraging. Had enough in the tank to even get some cool down miles.
Wednesday: Off - headed to Boston via Fischer HQ for Hilary's presentation.
Thursday: Bike - 1hr 7mins. Normal 20.8 mile loop out the door, nice and easy
Friday: FNV 8. 3x up Black Mountain weed whacking, flagging, and running.
Saturday: Beach to Beacon 10k - 12.6 miles on the day, 37:46. A good race in humid conditions. Third year in a row at this race and never seem to find fresh legs for it. FNV definitely added on the general fatigue so I'm happy with the pacing and overall experience. Looking for something in the 34s at some 10k in the future.
Sunday: Hike in the northern Presidentials (13 miles / 7.5k' vertical). Really fun day with some ladies heading to UTMB in less than a month. Legs were trashed so I had to take it very easy.
A very full week that was more active than I'd like. Recovery is coming along but feeling rushed. I'd like to get back into a consistent running schedule but that probably won't happen for a while! My schedule after the Ragged 50k will be recovery (Aug 13 - 17), play in the mountains Aug 18 - 21, UTMB media from Aug 22 - Sep 3, and back into some ultras.
