Vermont 50 Miler

Travel Day

Today my only requirement was getting to Ascutney to register by 8pm which left most of the day wide open. I spent the morning packing and once I had that worked out it was on to stacking firewood and prepping some hard cider from out backyard apples. Hilary and I left after lunch and made the 2.5 hour drive to VT with plenty of time to pick up my packet and walk around the expo. The free grilled cheese was by far the highlight. We caught the tail end of the kids fun run and made our way over to the house we were camping at, 0.9 miles by crow with a straight-shot view of the mountain. I did my best to rest the legs and relax. Big thanks to the Browns for hosting/feeding us!
